Default Anyone Know How to Change Heater Core

I'm a current 04'ES330 owner and i'm looking to purchasing a 95' GS that has 130K. The owner said it needs a new heater core. How easy is it to install? I tried searching heater core threads and could only find the most recent one that was somewhat relevant. Thanks

I've been looking onto this as I'm on the same boat. I think you need to discount $1k off the price for this repair. The core can easily cost you $200, and $600 for labor is not out of the question. Plus $200 for your hassle... As far as doing it oneself, it's a big job...

I replaced my last year. However I have a RHD aristo and had a spare RHD clip laying around and used that heater core. So the price of the heater core idk. But what I can say, is that it IS alot of work. Removing the dash, support bar, Entire dash harness, then you literally have to take the entire heater/AC blower box unit out. Meaning you have to discharge your AC in order to get it out. I had to actually do mine twice due to a horrible smell after it sits for a few days. Bacteria was the problem. Anyways, on a scale of 1-10, 1 being novice mechanic and 10 being expert, Id rate this job an easy 7 due to ALOT of electrical involved.
