Just a quick one: how does 1st Gen GS300 feel?
Hello all from LS400 side!
It seems that I don't show any signs of growing up and I find myself looking at a 1995 1st Gen GS300 with about 80k miles on the clock. This would - if I don't come to my senses - become my daily driver.
I'm fairly familiar with the specs and so but how does the 1st Gen GS300 feel on the road?
Does it feel heavy and bargelike or does driver have some "feel" of the road? Perhaps something like the LS but just a bit smaller and lighter?
Is the build quality similarish as with LS?

Out of the cars i've driven or owned... Mk3 turbo supra, toyota pickup, 500hp mk2 supra, and a few others...
With stock suspension the car feels floaty and big, boaty..
I upgraded to Parts By MAX JZS147 18/14KG coil overs with some 18" wheels and good tires, swapped in an R154 5 speed transmission from a MK3 supra/Soarer and now the car handles exceptionally. Better than any car I've driven thus far, perhaps its weight helps but this beast can corner and with the use of the transmission I can stay on the power band at any speed through a corner which really propels me. I definitely have to warm up my tires to get the grip needed but I have LOTS of fun in this car! Truly my dream car.
I would say the build quality is up there with the Mk4/LS/SC ... its all the same era of machinery and Toyota excellence.
My future plans are to upgrade all my bushings in the sub frame, R&P, control arms, and put an LSD in the car which will only help in how the car handles and drives. I Do drive rather aggressively too..

Joe, thanks for your reply.
I have two Vettes in garage in bits and pieces and I really would not like to add yet another project BUT I now got the idea of how a GS300 feels like. And I could live with that feel.
I have two other options ie. BMW 5 series and Jaguar S type to consider. Several decent examples of the latter ones but very few low kilometer GS300s around.
Decisions, decisions...
