Question Has anyone had problems with their power windows?

My rear power windows have not worked in a while. I don't worry about them cuz i don't sit back there anyway. Plus i always use my AC. But when talking to a parts supplier i was informed that the motors/actuators always go out on these cars.

Have you guys had any problems with your windows?

My front passenger window is not as fast as i want it to be either. I guess non of them ever were fast moving like Ford windows.

Default Power Windows.

007,

Yes, motors/actuators are a common problem for a first gen. GS. It is especially big and very common on a 1993 year. A 93 GS series actually had a factory recall based on this. I guess not too many people took them in. As the years went on, this problem slowly disappeared. Just my .02.

Last year, my driver's door window wouldn't work. Apparently a plastic clip that holds the window broke. I bought a new assembly from the dealer and installed it myself. I can't remember how much it cost, but it wasn't very expensive. It was pretty easy to install too.

Can you hear the motor working but the window doesn't raise when you press the button? If so, you have the same problem I did. If you can't hear the motor, it is probably burned out. It is an easy thing to replace.

Rover.... Man there was actually a recall on this... hmm.. maybe a little late now but i probably need to call my dealer and see if i can get this fixed under the recall. Thanks for the info.

93LexoGS300....nope i can't hear the motor running. The window was slow to lower/raise then eventually wouldn't at all.

I plan to get this problem corrected before the warm weather really sets in. When you allow these little problems to pile up it becomes a B**** to come up with the money to do it all later.
