Stock CUP HOLDERS in out cars...
Hi guys,
My cupholder does not stay inside the compartment, when the cupholder is assessed. I have heard it was a factory problem. They problem is when you push it and the holder comes out, there is nothing to stop it. It basically flies out. Do any of you know how to fix it?
thanks

there is 2 plastic pieces in the back that flex back and forth to hold the cup holder in. they are tiny and break off on pratically on all first gen gs. can't really fix it. unless you wanna give up an arm for one from the dealer

I'm missing my arm too... and need to give up my other one as it is broke again. I don't suggest buying one from the dealer as they have not modified the design at all and it will only break again. Seems like it can only hold maybe 6-8 ounces of fluid then it puts too much pressure on the clips in the rear. Eventually, SNAP!!!!
The dealer wants i think over $100 for that cup holder... my friend at the dealer got it for me for like $50. But even at $50 i don't think i will get another one.

DTPstyle,
If you do decide to go with a factory cupholder, the dealer will tell you that you need to buy the whole console. Don't. Your cup holder is a part of the assembly, and you can just buy that part and replace it yourself. It will cost you around $ 65-70 at the dealer. I've made a mistake and bought the whole console for $360, but the second time around, I just got the part for $65.
As far as door guards, I don't know, but I would not do it. It's a little bit too ricey for my taste. But it's your car, man.
