ERIC/JOHN: yeah, let's all meet up to fix this problem. h.ah.aha...!!!...john, you found some oil leak also? that's really funny, bro. i called the dealer tody and thy have the gasket for under $5. you guys pick one up soon or whenever ur ready. im picking mind today after work.

DISTRIBUTOR: it shudn't be too hard to take it out and putting it back. dont worry, eric, like i said i have the bible for our cars at home. what i know, though, before we take it apart, the motor has to be at TDC,
top dead center. we'll have to see. if we do meet up, let's make it next wkend. ill be busy working on my jdm headlights and projectors.

just an update. my dad opened up my ditrubtor today and its super dry inside. so i have NO oil leak. thats a good thing. but my rotor is worn out in the middle of the ditrubtor so if i change it i should get more power.

The oil leak is not inside the distributor, it is where the distributor mounts to the head.

As far as the rotor, you will only gain back the power you lost from the worn-out rotor. Since we will be working on the distributor, might as well buy a new cap and rotor if they are worn out. Those parts aren't expensive.

So i hsould buy a new cap too?? cool. i'll go recheck where the distrub connects to the head later

I was taught that too...your not alone....btw now that I have my car back I'm gonnna take out the cupholder and take pics of how I fixed it......you were the one that asked how right? I figured a lot of people have the same prob. so I should just post it.

Only if the cap is worn out, look inside of it at the metal contacts. See if they are rusted, brown/black, or look worn. If the cap is cheap, might as well buy it too because you will have to replace it sometime down the road.
