My GS300
Well I have debated the idea several times within the past few months and keep coming up with the same result, so to help me on my decision I would like all your feedback and the positives and negatives. In case you haven't guessed yet I want to sell my car or part it out if I have enough interest in it. So this is where I leave the debating to you. Thanks again.
My car isn't in the greatest shape in or out, but it runs and drives really well. It needs a lot of work, mostly cosmetic. I think for the price to fix this up into great condition would cost about the same as a good used car with low miles. This just shows you where I am at in my decision.

If you decide to sell the car PLEASE, for the love of God man, post pictures or a link showing your car. I'm looking for a GS project and wouldn't mind a little cosmetic work since I have a paint and body friend and I'll be doing the 2J swap.
But in regards to what you should do, it all depends on where you stand. If you have a DD so this car can be down for a while have at it. Fix the car cause if you just end up selling it you might regret it later. If you've had it for a while and just feel that your ready to move on just sell it. If you haven't dumped ungodly amounts of money into it (like I've done with my 3000GT) then you won't be at that much of a loss if you sell it.

It sounds like you are leaning towards getting rid of the car]
Ashybone I do not have another Daily Driver, this is my only car and that's why I can't decide. I don't have a ton of money into it, but I know I will never get that money back out of it. If I had to guess, I would say I have about 2500 into it, which isn't a lot.

To be honestly with you I'd sell the car. If the work is mostly cosmetic and it bothers you just upgrade. I'm sure you can still sell the car to recover some of you losses and just get a new one. I'd recommend saving your money so you have maybe 2-3 grand before trying to sell it. That way you jump into a newer car right away without any down time. $2500 is nothing.... ask me how I know. But If you look at how long you've had the car that amount would probably be justified.

The cosmetics don't bother me that much, its the car as a whole. I6, 220hp, A4, and 22 mpg's. Espically the A4. I love the engine and the fact its RWD, but the gear ratios are a bit high for a sedan. The interior is pretty run down as well as the suspension bushings. I have decided to put a little more money into it before I do sell it, so the next person doesn't have to worry about the problems, just preventive maintenance.

You mentioned interior. Are the door panels really bad? If so I have some interior door panels that I don't need. all you have to do is pay for shipping. I would rate 2 of the 5 panels 8/10. The others could use either reupholster with new material(I was just quoted $125 per full door panel for complete re-upholstery) or upholstery re-sealing paste. Let me know..
