Default Modding the fog light

I read somewhere here that we can remove some metal price inside the fog light assembly and that'll give more light. Anyone know how to do it and may be have some pix? Is it worth doing it?

TIA

no pics but its easy. all you gotta do is turn your oven up to 350 then turn off the oven. then put your fog light in there for 5 minutes. then remove the glass. then once the glass is out there is a piece of metal covering the bulb. just take some pliars and cut this piece of metal and take it out. now instead of having the bulb reflect against this metal piece then out onto the road. the bulb directly lights up the road.

to seal it back up just put it back in the oven for like 2 minutes. then take soemthing old and scrape out all the old silicon. then go to home depot and buy some silicon and fill up the gap with silicon then push the glass back together and put back all the clips. the clips will make sure its a tight seal

its a good 30%+ increase in light. before with the shield, the bulb sits behind it and when the bulb lights up the shield covers the entire bulb, so the bulb has to bounce offf of the shield and then onto the housing then onto the road.

without the glare gaurd you can look directly inside and see the actual bulb. so when you turn on the bulb it directly goes to the ground.

When you say it goes "directly to the ground" is the angle of light projection the same? And only the brightness intensified?

that means that now there is nothing in the way of the bulb light output to exit the housing. its just the glass now.

imaging putting a cover over the lamp on your desk. see how dim it it. it has to reflect of the inside of that cover to get the light out. now if you remove that cover it just lights everything up.

Being that it's the "glare" guard, it the glare bad to the oncoming traffic after removing the shield?

And, you are saying that we don't need any adhesive, just silicone?

Thanks a lot for your help man.

the glare is not bad at all. but what do we care. we are the one behind the wheel. lol. also the silicon is to seal and to hold the lens in place. same thing as adhesive
