Default Painting Grill

Hi guys,

My grill is a fading black color and I would like to spray paint it. Have any of you guys taken out your grill? I took off the emblem and some screws inside the grill. However I'm afraid that if I unscrew the LATCH a spring or something may not fit when I put it back...

Talking

taking off the grille is easy. first unscrew the 2 bolts which hold that latch. then you take off the 2 phillips head screws holding the plastic piece. unhook those plastic tabs and take the plastic piece off. behind that plastic piece is a bolt and a nut you will have to take off on each side of the grille. just take those off and you're good to go. i dont remember if there was a bolt in the middle, but if there is, you should see it and take that off as well.

btw...fyi...our 1st gen grilles do NOT have chrome under that black like the 2nd gen GS's...so do not use paint remover to try...ehehe.

Default I have a different suggestion...

Try Malco's Perfect 10 - It's an aerosol spray with a super-fine mist that restores older faded looking trim on vinyl, plastic, leather, rubber, metal and wood surfaces...work great! I use it on my grill and it last a long time too. It doesn't get too glossy, I'd say semi-glossy. But yeah, works great.

Regards,

Seize

I used Back-to-Black on my grill and it looks almost brand new. This stuff is made for restoring black plastic trim.
