Hey Marcus,
I think it looks just fine. It actually improves the look of your car. BTW did u ever get in an accident? Your hood seems opened, just like mine....
Hey Jmai22, im not the only one with a hood that looks like its open. hehee

Hmmm...you used that chrome door trim stuff right? Not right bro...I saw a Audi (the new A4) today and he did the same thing and man, it looked MICKEY MOUSE. You can totally tell that it's that cheap chrome door trim....
It's too bad no one makes a really nice grille for the JZS147 GS....I like McNelson's solution....just painted black. I've seen some decent mesh jobs too...

This is a long story. In January, I saw a guy on Ebay selling kits for the 2nd Gen Lexus gs. I was not sure what he was selling, but I sent him an e-mail asking him whether he could make something for the 1st Gen. He said he could so I send him the dimensions of all the slats. He sent me a kit at a reduced cost to see if I found it acceptable. Living in frozen Michigan, I just recently installed the kit. Yes. it is exactly what you said it is.
Now.... if only the slats were more recessed, this would be a fairly good looking conversion, but because the slats are not recessed, it does look cheesy when viewed from the side. The amazing thing, however is that no one who has seen it from 10 to 15 feet away has noticed that the chrome slats stick out somewhat...... I dunno.... maybe all us hillbillies in Michigan think it is cool. I know Lexus owners are very fussy about how they look, and rightly so.

I think the kit would look totally different on say, a black car than a champagne or white or green one.
