2002 GS300 How to read dipstick
Got the oil changed at Havoline Express Lube on Howell Road in Atlanta today. When I got back home, I checked the dipstick. The oil did not quite touch the lower mark!!! I assume the difference between the two marks is one quart. Went back and they drew a quart in a big can; used almost all of it to get the oil up to the top mark.
They told me that this was only a half quart (pint) and was a logical error. I think it was a full quart which means they tried to make extra profit from the oil change by shorting me.
Does anyone know for sure the volume difference in the top and the bottom (second) mark on the dipstick?
Thx.

I've always known it as one quart. And I had this same issue when I had an oil change done and they only wanted to give me five quarts.
Now when I do my own oil changes.. I purchase a larger 5 quart jug, and an extra 1 quart.. Which with a filter change gives me the perfect amount.
