Default Anybody have the trim piece break on their front windows?

I think I have read this before that this has happened to a few people. I have bad wind noise from my driverside black trim piece that holds in the window in, in the top corner has a clip busted or somethin. What has to be done to fix this? I was thinking of getting some 3m trim adhesive, I know that is kind of rigging it but the 3m stuff is pretty powerful, and I think I remember the cost to fix this was costly and a real pain. Thanks

Is there a way to find out just what is broken? I have MAD wind noise on the driver's side but I noticed if I finesse the window down just a smidge 80% of it goes away.

yah, almost all the first gen gs3's i've seen have the trim busted on the drivers side. weird. and yeah, it's a broken clip. i've personally replaced one trim before and it is the clip.

In other words you can't just replace the clip you have to replace all the trim for $300, right?

I have the same problem too. The panel on the side came off so I JB welded it. It is fine. BUT the piece on the window trim is CRACKED and everytime I close the door, I have to push it in. I do not roll down my driver side window as a result of it becase the piece pushes out....

Default wind noise

I had the same prob with mine, it was the black outside window trim that was loose, brought to a local bodyshop and they used some epoxy. Dealer wanted too much for a new piece!!!!

Yeah, mine has wind coming in on the driver's side as well.... i thought the same (broken clip) but it seemed like too much trouble to take the assembly off. Later i plan to rig it as well, cuz that wind gets on my nerves. I will probably use Magnum Steel... which is better than JB Weld. Looks like Playdoh you rub the stuff together for a about a min., put it where you need it and it hardens in 5 mins, can be drilled, painted etc.

all i did was get goop brand all purpose glue. it comes with a needle noise nozzle which is great for putting glue up under the trim. This glue is also easy to get off when semi dry so if you get some on your door don't worry. I just put a bunch in under the trim took a handfull of clamps and let it dry overnight.

Sounds good! I bet you had to disconnect the battery because it would be on all night!
