Wink JZS161 Conversion for 1st gen...

i remember someone on the forums contemplating putting 2nd gen headlights on a 1st gen body not too long ago. i recall some mixed opinions on this subject, and i thought it would look silly in my opinion . i was flipping through the pages of the Jan 2003 Option magazine...look what i came across:

http://www.allied.org/~mischief/147161conversion.jpg

sorry its so big, but i had to scan it like that to make it clear so you guys know what you're looking at. that Bristar Type II fender is an entire front conversion for the 1st gen gs...which looks to be a wide body type of fender for the rear also . price of the kit... ¥870,000.

870,000.00 JPY Japan Yen => 7,322.39 USD United States Dollars
1 JPY = 0.00841654 USD
1 USD = 118.814 JPY

after taking a look at the pic...the conversion doesn't look half bad

Bristar...hahahahahha....gotta love the mispellings...

It should be BLISTER...as in a Blister flare (which is the kind of flare that's on that kit)...that kit has been around for a while now (it is the first Aristo Bible...volume 34)...dunno, the JZS160 conversion looks too bubbly...the kit that keeps the JZS147 style looks better IMO...

What if you just want the front of the kit? Is there any way to get just that?

Yeah me too, I had no idea that it was a conversion, since I can't read Japanese. But I was searching the internet for "Bristar fenders" and found this thread, then I read the first couple of posts and did a double-take at the ad and realized it was in fact a JZS141.

It's a pretty good conversion, because I think it's fooled everyone who doesn't read Japanese.

Too bad the price is about the same cost as a 1998 JZS161

I dont know who in their right mind in Japan would actually buy that kit. I mean really, if the kit costs 870,000 yen you can buy a second gen aristo in Japan for that price. And if you have a first gen here and will to pay 8k for that kit you can easily buy a second gen
