Default Need spare key for 94 GS300

I only have one key for my 94 GS300. How can I get another one?

I don't think the key has a transponder in it, does it?

Thanks

I'm also looking for a spare key for my 94 gs300. I called around to some locksmiths/key duplicators up at Kansas City. One fellow said he could cut me key for, IIRC, 20 bucks. I've not gotten up there yet to do it yet so don't know for certain. Here's his site for any interested midwesterners: http://atozlocksmithkc.com/

Default Keys

I got my blank off ebay for $10 bucks and took it to the dealer. I don't know if they were amused by by $200 GS or what but they copied the key for free The blank I got was an OEM blank too, but yeah, the transponders or whatever you call em only come in sets, 1, 2, or 3, and have a chip that you have to install somewhere. they are all programmed together. Dealer said they are roughly $350 for the set of 3.

Ah, nice idea. Might be worth a call to the local Lexus dealer to verify.

I called the Lexus dealer here in L.A., and he said the key doesn't need a transponder to open the doors and start the car, which is all I care about.

The transponder is for remote unlocking of doors.

I ordered the following off of ebay:

My local hardware store says they can cut the key when I get it.

I'll let you all know if it works...

The uncut ebay key works fine.

My local hardware store cut it for $20, and that's it.

Thanks, all.
