Problems are rear power windows don't work, time for some new leather soon. We all may need to do a group buy on a leather trim kit as i talked about in an earlier thread. Maybe sometime this summer.

As of 2/11/06 I have over 248K miles on my 1996 ES 300. I'm sure I can go another 248K more miles.

238,000+
I've a 1990 LS with a little over 238,000 miles. The drivetrain is all original except for a few non-performance related items such as the alternator, steering pump, etc.
I looked up an original road test for a '90 and I get the same 0-60 numbers (~8 seconds) as when it was new and it uses maybe only a half-quart of oil between changes.
I bought it at about 70,000 miles and the timing belt had just been replaced. I thought it might be helpful if I list what I've had to replace since then:
- The ENTIRE A/C system - $1,500...still doesn't work as well as it should.
- Steering pump - $450 - $600 (replaced twice)
- Alternator - $120 (replaced 3x)
- Steering rack - $280 (my son replaced it so it was just the cost of the part)
- A few parts for the driver's seat - $35 - $50
- Brake caliper, front - $65
- Outer tierod end - $35
- Control arm busings - $130
- Rear halfshaft - $85 (ebay - used)
- Exhaust work - $185
- Driver's side pwr window motor - $65
- Brake rotors, front/rear - $180 the first time, about $35/pr each time now*
*The first set of brake rotors for front and rear were about $185 per each end. The were genuine Lexus I got on ebay and didn't seem to last long so now I buy the cheapest rotors I can buy and they last about the same amount of time. I've replaced all four rotors for about $70 TOTAL, about three times now.
Still Needs:
- Idle Speed Control Motor/Valve - Lexus wants about $700 for one of these so I've been putting it off. It actually runs quite well without it
- Front main seal, and while I'm at it I'll throw in a new timing belt and water pump since there won't be much difference in the labor cost

*As with everybody else driver trim cracked resulting in wind noise
*Leather needs to be redone soon.. not too bad.
*Trunk struts have officially retired.
*waiting for the RPM Led to go out (Flashes on the tip a little when its real hot outside)
