Default Changing starter

Hello everyone

I am usually really good at working on my own vehicles. Hondas, Chevy's, fords and a mkIII. But this gs300 starter is kicking my ***. Could someone please give me some pointers? I can't get to the bolts under the car or on top. Can't find any video's on it. Read a form that said to take the trans down and, one that didn't mention the trans but, wasn't very descriptive.

Please help

From what I remember, I did mine from under the car when I had my 1gs. I used a combination of long and wobble extensions.

I removed the 2 starter bolts from underneath the car using wobble and long socket extensions. Im sure you are aware, but for those who may read in the future disconnect the battery before removing anything on the starter. You can thank me later.

Once the starter's electrical plug was disconnected and the 2 bolts were removed, i stood up, opened the hood and removed the starter out from the hood engine bay. Not from underneath the car. Trust me, it can be done.

You will just have to move/angle the starter in different positions until you get it jut right. It will barely squeeze through.

Remember exactly what angle younpulled the starter out at because you will beed to squeeze ir back in the same way.

I hope this helps. Oh and rockauto had a 3 peice starter rebuild kit for 12$(8 years ago). It was a cinch to do. I myself used it and have been rockin the original(rebuilt by me) starter since then.

Thank you for your reply. I have got it changed after a few hours of struggle and frustration.
I come to find out there are 3 blown capacitors. Just found out today, whole reason I have issues. After replacing all the sensors.
I'm just not sure where to get them? They are nichicon 100uf 10v 105c. Afraid of getting the wrong sizes. If you have any idea what and where I should be looking id appreciate it.

Click in the link below, and after the page loads, click on the button called "show products". All capacitors shown are 100uF, +105C, but the voltage ratings are electronically beefier (higher voltages than 10volts)

http://www.mouser.com/Mobile/Passive...word=Capacitor

For online electronic components I lean more towards www.mouser.com and www.digikey.com comes second.
