Default I cured my yellowed headlights

I washed my car the today at my fathers appliance store and I realized how tired of looking at my yellowed passenger headlight I was (the other was replaced after an accident so it is not yellowed)It was soo bad that I was willing to try anything.....sooo i took this strong industrial degreaser that we use for cleaning of used ranges and dilutted it in water and sprayed it on the head light (I made sure it didn't get on the paint atleast not for too long)......well I could immediately see the foamy solution become yellow....so I hosed of the healdight and it was still a little yellow so i repeated and scrubbed with a rag.........they were crystal clear! whatever gets the headlight yellow is just something contaminating it.....its not the plastic aging like I used to assume.....I did this on my foglighht and it helped but for some reason it didnt' work as well......anyway I don't care my headlights are both nice and crystal clear and it made a big difference........ and uhhhhhh the stuff I used is a chemical we order in boxes of 5 gallons made by a local sanitation chemical company called sanichem......its not anything you can buy at a store so I dont know what could compare to it???maybe Easy-off but since I don;t know how different it may be to what i used I don't reccomend anything.....just try at your own risk......just be aware that the yellow stuff can come off

i dont see why not.......you just need to spray each headlight maybe three times so you wouldn't need much more than a few OZ's.........i just dont want to have to go crazy shipping this stuff toevery one....gthe stuff is costs 72 bucks for a 4 gallon box (it makes like 6 gallons per gallon though) but i wouldn't charge you for the stuff just shipping or whatever email me at alexamparo18@hotmail.com

Are you guys in the LA/OC area gonna have a mini meet to clear your headlights? I'd be interested in attending

I think I will first use easy off, its a very strong degreaser for what I know. Besides the yellowing, did your light look nasty inside? These lenses inside look like crap to me.

I just used carpet cleaner and it worked better than anything else I've tried, including the car wax tip.

I have to go look in my car to see, but it's the same kind that you can get at Discount Auto Parts. It only took me about 2 sprays and two scrubs to get the outside immaculant. I will take a pic tomorrow. However, the inside is a little dirty.

Does anyone have updates on the best way to clear yellow / dirty headlights? I've tried Meguire's PlastX but it still is not clear. Any suggestions on what to use to get them back to looking new?

Default Meguiars products do the trick!

Meguiars mirror glaze clear plastic cleaner, polish, and detailer does a great job on old headlights.
