Default Temperature gauge not working

1994 GS300 just got another engine stalled but the temperature gauge is not working. The signal I'm told is good. Installed another instrument cluster and gauge went up to top then dropped back down not reading anything. Could the current be too strong burning out the gauge? Tomorrow, I will buy a another instrument cluster. Has anyone seen a auxiliary temperature gauge in a gs300?

Have you replaced the temperature sensor?? Under the throttle intake manifold green connector.

That would be my suggestion as well, put a test wire in the plug, if it goes to full hot the wiring and gauge are good and means the sensor is bad
