Aristo brake booster
Hey all,
Im new here and such. But my brake booster is giving me issues. Its the booster with the abs on it. The all in one I suppose.
Its a 1994 Toyota Aristo
I dont want to order another brake booster and MC and i end up with the same issue. As ive read that the issue seems to be a common problem. The BMC nitrogen canister pump keeps going off every 2 seconds and brings the brake light up on the dash. Also it draws a lot of power that all the lights and so on in car keep dimming.
im wondering if the gs300 vacuum booster and MC will work, or if any other booster from another car will work. I know ill probably lose the abs and trc feature. But I suppose its not that detrimental.
Thanks in advance.

Probably the aristo brake accumulator which loses its' o-rings over time esp on these 25 year old cars. Seems to be a rather common issue on aristos'/soarers.
Part number is 47950-24020
Some people have rebuilt theres', but its charged to like 1000-1100 psi w/ nitrogen and has to be machined to take it apart.
Probably not very feasible to install a gs300 brake master/booster; but I imagine there is a possibility to remove it all, but not really worth the safety features' you will be losing.

I have read about it and really trying to avoid buying a used one and end up having the same issue. Also I live in Jamaica and anyone of the mechanics I ask say they don't know of anyone who can fix that problem. I just want an easy solution. I dont think ABS is that big of a deal to me IMHO.
Just want it fixed before I decide to scrap it.

You could probably do what I did with my US GS300 brake master/booster and delete the ABS/TRAC completely with braided lines. If you're going to open the system remember to pump the brakes 30-40 times with the engine off to release pressure from the system. You could also try having the canister recharged with nitrogen to 1000psi, which can be done at motorcycle shock shops.

No my car started as a USDM gs300 with ABS, no TRAC. and I deleted the entire ABS system.

Yeah I bet it would all bolt on and allow you to delete the TRAC/ABS, but in my opinion it would be far too difficult to try and get the ABS system working again. You'll probably have an ABS light on your dash but functionally you will be able to hook vacuum and have vacuum assisted brakes, and be able to bleed them like normal. Just know that when braking hard the chances of locking up the tires are greatly increased.
Any hydraulic shops that could create the lines for you like I've shown? I do plan on selling my setup, but I wasn't quite ready yet to start tearing it apart.

I think there should be places that can make the lines. If not I was planning on doing it from hard lines and just bend them according to how i need it routed
