1ST gen vs. 2ND gen suspension interchange parts
greetings,
I apologize in advance if I missed the first/old posting on this topic, and I very much appreciate all the insights people have posted in relation such as coil overs, camber kits, brake conversions etc. but I am trying to see if anyone has discovered if the 2nd gen (98-05) gs300 front lower rearward radius arm assemblies fit the 1st gen (92-97) gs300 chassis, I know I can just replace the bushing, but I see that I can get the complete radius arm assembly from moog or mevotech or import direct, but only for a 2nd gen GS300.
does anyone know if these are the same parts or are they so different that "interchanging" them is a no go, if so do any other toyota/lexus chassis use the same front lower radius arm as the jzs147? that is still available? I can find darn near everything else but I'm having a really hard time finding the front lower radius arm assemblies/bushings for the 1st gen GS300/JZS147.... 1st gens get no love 😥
thanks again 🍻

Nope 1gs and 2gs rear suspensions are different. Although the 2gs and IS300 are the same.
Our rear suspension is more like the SC300 or MK4 supra. But I believe certain arms are different sizes still and may only share upper/lower control arms and knuckles. Best bet is to go with figs and have the bushings pushed out/in by a shop. It will be a much higher quality bushing in comparison to anything that moog, mevotech or any other chinese/tawainese company could produce.

hey thanks for the reply and the pic! yea I found those bushings like you have there in blue, Super pro or the like. I was hoping to swap in a simple cheap sub assembly so I could use the OEM parts to put new bushings in and still putt putt around in super grandpa stock configuration while I get the rest of the suspension goodies together, yknow bushings and camber plates and coil overs, oh my.
but I definitely see where the sc300 and jza80 parts share alot with the rear suspension in the gs300. 🤔🧐🤨
