I have a 94 Lexus GS300 (LOVE this car) and the passenger windows stopped working from the main driver switch and from the door switches. Last week the right side rear window rolled down but now won't go back up. The driver window rolls up and down perfectly, sunroof works great, door locks on all passenger doors and driver door work. Any idea how I can correct this? All I can find is how to reset the windows and was told it's not the fuse since the driver door and sunroof work. Thank you!

Hello,
Does either of the motors show any signs of life?
For the rear window, they are not used a whole lot, so the rails on which it slides may dry out and cause a ton of resistance. To fix that, get some Teflon dry lube and spray it on each corner of the glass, then try lifting the window back up, helping it by hand if needed. If, however, the motor won't give out any signs of life, you will likely have to take the door panel off and check the mechanism and power to the motors.
Hope this helps and best of luck!

Thank you so much, I'll give that a try. I don't hear the motor when I try to roll any of the windows up or down including the driver side. I really don't have many passengers so it can't be wear and tear but the car is 28 years old. However, come to think of it the car had a water leak from the top of the windshield last year on the passenger side. Maybe that caused a short?

No, there is only one fuse for all windows, if it were to blow, none of them would go anywhere.
All you can do at this point is take the door panel off to see if you have power coming to the motor, if so, take the motor itself out, propping the window with something, and see if the motor will spin by itself.
Hope this helps and best of luck!

Thank you, I'll try that. Two automotive companies (1 who specializes in Lexus) we're not able to even help me get the window rolled up. At this point, I'll be satisfied if I can at least accomplaccomplish that. 😉 Thanks again for your assistance!

The second mechanic didn't seem interested in offering much assistance besides advising me not to buy a master door switch. I found this video and was hopeful it would work but now I need to find plan G.

That honestly doesn't look like a universal method, all cars will be different, and will have different ways of interacting with a switch, not to say that those really don't fail all that often, at least in Toyota vehicles. Inmost cases, it's the motor that gets fried because of increased load or simply because of age. Best bet at this point would be to take either of the door panels off and start checking if the wiring is good, motor is working, and the mechanism moves freely.
Hope this helps and best of luck!

I used to have 05 GS300 driver side door glass cannot up/down, it is due to the clamp glued to glass out of glass, I disassemble it, using 3M 08609 to re-glue the glass into clamp and 2-3 years no problem.
There is no hole on glass to hook, just glued.
