those numbers are cool, but I want to see a timeslip, damn it all these high hp GS now and I've yet to see an 11 or 12 second timeslip yet. As a matter of fact, the only 13 I've even seen is from stock IS350s!!!!

We have perfect track weather, cool nights are in the high 40's to low 50's and dry this week thru next weekend. Always nice ot have the added intercooler effect of dry-cold air. I can't wait to see TTurboPimp's time slip..take it to Florida man...I'm sure some of us will chip-in and pay for the track time. What say you...

Being a diesel guy myself (look at the user name) Torque to me holds way more importance than horsepower.

For instance, i've seen a 5.9L cummins make only 333 horse w/ a bunch of mods, but 1009 ft. lbs. torque.

Also think about...if you decide to get larger/heavier wheels, that torque is whats gonna help you move them.

Interesting thread. I used to campaign an NHRA Super Stock Eliminator drag car in the mid to late 70's. (Before the rule change that pretty much opened it up to extensive cylinder head work). Our chief competition was the 265 and 283 cubic inch Chevrolet. The car we raced was a Ford at around 360 cubic inches. The difference between the car combinations was in the weight of the cars. Our Ford carried approximately 600lbs more than the Chevrolets. In head to head competition, the Ford was faster by 2 to 4 MPH. One year at the Winter Nationals, we raced one of the "good ole, down south boys". He put two lengths on us in the first 100 feet, then the TORQUE took over and we motored right on by. If the engine is mechanically capable of RPM, there is no horsepower without torque.

The more imprint of my azz in my seat, the better, so I would say torque.

I would agree on this quote. Yes I love the feeling of coming out of the hole with a lot of force, but I also love the feeling of doing 65 mph and whooping it to 120 fast.

My feeling towards this is that they work very together. what makes the HP is how high the rpm can go up to. I think
