I have a flashing check engine light on. I pulled the code P0305 for a cylinder 5 misfire. I changed all of the spark plugs with OEM Denso and new NGK wires and coil packs. I am still getting the same code. After driving around for about 200 miles, I took out spark plug #5 and it looks brand new--no combustion signs/carbon build up on it--it looks like it's brand new out of the box spanking white while the remaining 5 spark plugs do have some carbon deposits on them.
Any ideas? I have a 1998 GS 300 with 23k miles on it. I purchased it at 12k miles and this issue just showed up last week; I've only had the car for about 6 months.

We very recently had someone with a similar condition. Turns out it was a bad Fuel Injector. Don't know if this is your problem, but if you have switched the coil pack to another cylinder already to see if the problem follows or not, thats where you may want to look next. Good luck.

I'm getting the same code and my engine studders when accelerating the car / pushing gas pedal under load.
I'm still troubleshooting it now. So far tested fuel injector with multimeter and it checks out as far as the resistance. I also checked the ignition coil with a multimeter and it matches the other ignition coils. I pull the Spark plug and the threads are coated in oil.
Will report back here when I find a solution.
