Looking to upgrade my stereo I have the Navi/stereo in it. Does anyone have any info/ videos on how to bypass the amp and also what did y’all do for the climate controls ?

You may also consider an option of getting aftermarket amplifiers with high-level inputs support, that you can hook up after the OEM amplifier and preserve your original setup with navi head unit
In my opinion it looks much nicer then separate clima control that looks, like it came straight from the 80s.
There are also plenty of solutions to add an external input to your stock head, all the way from simple aux to full-on CarPlay

That was a reply to previous message, and pointing out that CarPlay is possible on this generation, which my photo illustrates, and I find it pretty self-explanatory. Figuring the rest out (like that the actual unit is Grom) is very simple task in case topic starter is interested, which we don’t know.

Interesting, so the Grom VLine VL2 and VLite VT2 are available for these cars. I wonder how long they've been available because this is the first I've heard of them. I've never paid attention before because my car was non-nav, but this almost appears to be a no-brainer for cars with nav.

For 2003 Lexus GS the stereo must have factory navigation in order to be compatible with the GROM VLine VL2 or VLite VT2 system. External CD changer will be disconnected and no longer available. Both VLine VL2 and VLite VT2 systems offer wireless CarPlay and Android Auto.

We are working on the Android update for the VLine VL2. We will post the announcement once available. Currently, it runs on Android 8.1 that fully supports Google and Waze maps and most of the music apps.
As for the VLite VT2, the system is for the integration of CarPlay and Android Auto, it does not have the ability to install the apps. Therefore the version of the Android running on the background does not matter at all.
