They won’t even let you return anything unless you buy their ridiculous warranty now and the warranty is like 50% of the price of the part.

That’s interesting about the homeless people snatching parts. I think the giant fences with barbed wire deter it from happening here but I wouldn’t be surprised if people have tried. Of course they haven’t increased what they pay for cars. Aside from find parts like you did, the big junkyard here has gotten to expensive for me.
Sorry didn’t mean to say that the homeless people were stealing everything. What I have seen going on is just people who go there everyday and just strip whatever parts they know they can quickly resell for a profit. They aren’t buying parts for their own vehicles, but they take anything that is valuable, easy to remove, in excellent condition, etc. anything aftermarket or has recently been installed, is getting pulled off the first day the vehicle is in the yard, floor mats, stereo’s, window switches, all stuff that they can sell quickly and easily for a good profit. I talked to one guy who said he was doing $20,000 per month in sales on eBay and only had the minimum of stuff listed for sale, cause his goal was to get stuff that he could sell the fastest. That’s a pretty good business to create from scratch and with minimal investment and overhead
