I have a '98 GS400. I've searched the Forum here for this answer, but can't seem to pin it down, so anyone who can help would be greatly appreciated: What is the interval, after a repair where the battery is disconnected and reconnected, that a GS's computer resets and will allow a smog test? Thank you in advance.

A dealer Service Dept told me 50-100 miles. Another told me 150. Then there were posts here about so many cold starts also being required, in addition to the mileage. Nobody seems to know the exact and correct formula.

Finally got tired of driving and it not being ready. Found the drive cycle to compete the catalyst function and it worked the first time. I suggest you look it up if you’re having trouble with a specific part not resetting.
Depends on the car but I’ve seen everything good to go within a couple days all the way to a few weeks. Yes. Type of driving as well as on/off cycles and cold starts generally all factor in.
