It doesn't seem right that your insurance will get you a new engine that won't have a warranty - I'd definitely fight that. I'd start looking for the state insurance commissioner or someone to complain to. If you start to make noise, I bet your insurance company will get real responsive. What insurance company is it by the way? (Please don't say Geico)

Bit,

My insurance is Allstate. They want to get an engine from Greenleaf and put it in my car. Greenleaf will have a lifetime warranty on the engine. I told them I don't want an engine from a salvage yard, unless they can give me the maintenance history of the car where the engine came from. Whether I get a new engine or not, I'm trading my car for a new GS next year.

If your insurance won't total your car you don't need to worry about your car loosing your value since your car will keep the clean title after the repairs. Your title will only change to rebuilt or salvage only if the insurance totals the car. So you'll be fine but the next owner is the one who will be screwd since it will be sold as a clean titled car when it's time for you to sell, unless you come clean and tell the buyer that the car has been flooded and sell it significantly cheaper than market value which you most likely won't.

An update on my car. They are going to put a new motor into my car. The car should be ready by the end of next week. While in the shop, I will be putting on a few mods thanks to Steve. Not to put down anybody but I really appreciate how nice of car we have. A week of driving around in a Pontaic Sunfire will do that to you. Thanks to all that have replied.
