Default Tires slide/spin around corners

I looked for the answer but could not find one. If I take a 90 degree turn ( normal corner) and accelerate from say 5mph to anything above this my rear tires slide and the traction control lights up. I am not "gunning" it or anything though. I can not figure out why this is happening. Could it be a suspension problem that is allowing one of the wheels to loose traction? the tires have about 50% of the tread left.
Thanks

I noticed that also. However, when you turn off the VSC, then you won't have that problem.
I kinda don't understand that.

So I should just drive without the vsc on? Is there anyother way to fix this? One would think this should not happen??

I'd be weary of taking VSC off. I dont want to hear about another GS in a wreck. VSC helps stop the tire spin. If I take my VSC off and push it at a light, my tires are spinning pretty good. With VSC on there is just a chirp of tire spin.

I'm on a GS3 -- The GS4 with 300+ ft/lb of torque is known to light up the tires kind of easy. I'd check in a better tire with a stickier tread pattern.

Check the classified section, there're several LSD for sale. Those're the answers to you tire spinning problem I learned that lesson long time ago. I had my TRD LSD installed 6 months after I owned the GS4.

I know exactly what you're saying. I got real tired of it and knew I needed an LSD or Torsen diff. I ended up putting in the Supra Torsen diff. and couldn't be happier. Problem solved.

I noticed that a lot too. But, what tires are you running?

The GS4's have a LOT of torque--take a turn and gas it too much, and the rear end starts to kick out, but the VSC kicks in right away before anything bad happens--that's why I leave my VSC on full-time. I have the problem especially in the wet and on a concrete road. I've driven my sister's GS4 with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires, and they hold much better than my GS4's Bridgestone LM-22 snow tires right now (mid 30-45 degrees out, constant rain). The LM-22s are pretty easy to spin out, even on an easy rolling start--but then again, they were never meant to be performance tires. . . When the snow falls, I know I'll have upperhand on grip.

now i really think my tranny might have probelm or something...when i step on it really hard at the light, my car feel very weak until 4k rpm(just like turbo lag, but its a bad lagging).....i have never peel out a lil bit from stop, should i take it to the dealer or is there anyway i can fix that?
i have S03s on, rims are not heavy at all....18lbs frt and 20lbs rear

Itres are Michelin Pilot MXM 4 I think. I know these are not that great, but came on the car when I purchased it.

Well, there are two explainations for what you are experiencing...first of all, the lag you speak of is a pretty common problem in our cars. If you don't know already, the ECU adjusts to the driving pattern of the driver, so resetting the ECU may help you out quite a bit. Also, this is my second set of SO3's and I have found them to be almost completely silent when peeling out. Even when the tires are spinning you can hardly hear anything, so maybe you really are spinning them and you just can't tell. Have someone stand to the side of you when you launch...chances are they will be able to hear it.

the SO-3 grip level is much higher than any all season or snow tire, so without brakestand launches the tires most likely wont spin. I seriously think you guys should find a big empty parkinglot at night, turn the VSC off and practice what happens when the tires loose grip... VSC will not save you in the event of an emergency, it may help, but the car will still get very loose, i have video from the drift day of me tossing the GS, forgetting the VSC was on, and i was already totally sideways before the VSC kicked in, remember that the VSC only activates once it sences a loss of grip at one of the tires. If the car has enough inertia before it breaks loose (feint motion) the car will slide, regardless of VSC.

I also find VSC to actually push the tail out more, before bringing it in, because when you initially have inside tire spin, it brakes the inside wheel, acting as an LSD, transferring the power (just before it cuts) to the outside tire... this is just want i noticed
