Which is a better car? GS 430/LS430/545 ,and maybe not better, but what you would get

I would say 545. It is sportier than the GS and I don't think there is a single option the lecus comes with than you can't get on the 545. Plus the one downside of the lexus is the lack of a 6 speed manual. That being said, I choose a GS400 between that and a 540 because of maintanence and price.

IMO the 545 is just plain ugly and is going to have more maintenance problems.. so that brings it down to GS or LS, your choice with those between modded GS(more sporty) or LS(more luxury)..

At this time, I'd go with the 545 with sports package (I hear the active steering feature is incredible!).
My mind may change with the next generation GS, but if money is no issue, the 545 is the clear choice against a current gen GS / LS if you want performance, power & sportiness.

Don't let people scare you off with BMW reliability issues. Sure they are not as reliable as Lexus, however they are still very reliable vehicles and there will always be compaints of reliability for any car manufacturer (even on this Lexus forum).
