Well..in March I will be buying a new car and needed some feedback from you guys on which car would be a better buy...
I am currently looking at:
GS430
LS430
BMW 545
To be honest, I am looking for something that has a solid HP out of the box but at the same time something that I can modify....
Thanks

If I was buying a new car I would suggest the BWM 545..I have switched from German cars to Lexus lately and trust me , as nice as Lexus is..it will take you a good amount of money and time just to make the 430 FEEL like the 545 out of the box...I may get flamed by other, but if some one test drives the two right after the other, With an OPEN mind..you will see..\
Good luck,
Good luck,

what type of mods you talking 5k-10k 10-20k?
ls430 is going to be the least modded one, perhaps. but its a comfy car not a sporty one.
the 545 bimmer, its gonna be hella expensive, but you can mod it like anything else, and to be honest it is behind the lexus in pretty much everything i look for in a car, out of the box it will handle better, but before the decision is made the new gs430 has yet to be introduced.
You know as well as i do is that lexus will not let us down on the new gs, the new tranny will be sweet and with awd possibly it will grip very well. Its all your style, but you know what will be worth the money in the long run.

Bimmers has lots of HP but for a car with overall quliaty and future mods I'll choose a GS for sure, I like something that I can have lots of fun with.
As for the LS, is a Luxury car, pure comfort less fun "don't really want something that I could fall asleep in".

Since you won't be getting a car til March, by that time, hopefully, you will be able to see what the newly designed GS will have to offer in terms of design and performance. Who knows, it might make your decision easier if you're willing to wait for the new GS.

I've owned some german cars in the past...The reason i stay true to lexus is because i feel you get more for the money and german cars have mechanical problems here and there vs the lexus almost anything never goes wrong(knock on wood)...
Personally i say go for lexus

Slightly odd comparison, imho, by putting LS in the mix. Not normally associated with this group and, I would think, not normally cross-shopped.
As rOOkie points out, the new GS should likely be out or so close as to make delay of a March purchase a worthwhile consideration. Regardless of reliability issues, even the simpler version of iDrive might spoil the 545 for me, like a damn near perfect pair of running shoes that always leave me with a blister. I'm afraid that the seamless Lexus interface has spoiled me..........................forever.![Big Thumb Up](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/biggthumpup.gif)
Why is it that cars that we always speak of as having "character" or a "soul" seem to mimic human experience by shedding parts or fluids at awkward times??

I am am bias for answering this question but I also say GS...WHY??? Becuase with a little bit of money you will have a reliable luxury car that does not feel to big nor will you ever worry about being looked down upon the M5ers. At least with the GS there is nothing above it in the Lexus lineup as far as sport-sedan is concerened...

545i with the Sport Package/SMG transmission looks like an awesome driver's car, but the interior of the E60 style isn't a nice IMO as the GS, and light years behind the near perfect interior of the LS. The 545i/SMG/Sport is around $60K, which is way past the GS and into the middle options groups of the LS.
