Default The GS curse continues.....

As my buddy amy mentioned in another post, it seems that the GS's everywhere are under a serious curse. We've had some big hitters go down to accidents in the last few weeks.

Last night when I was coming home from meeting fellow SELOC members to show off my latest project, I too was bitten by the curse some evil person has bestowed upon our beloved GS's. What hurts the most is that I have been w/o my car for a full 3 wks now while under construction and last night was the first night back together again and GUESS WHAT HAPPENED TO ME......????!!!!!!

A DEER ran INTO my car on a major highway when I was on my way home. Yes! A stupid huge buck came out and ran INTO the drivers side of the car as I was cruising by at highway speeds. I had no time to react because he just literally stepped out of the tiny 3 foot emergency lane on the fast lane side of the divided highway. Yes! a 7 foot tall concrete divided highway with the little tiny emergency lane. Can you guys believe it???? I guess it could have been worse. Actually, I consider myself extremely lucky today because if I would have hit that huge buck in the front of the car, we would definetly been seriously hurt. As it was, I slapped him on the head with my drivers side mirror. It ripped it clean off and dented and scratched the front quarter panel and window. It's not too bad now, but last night I wanted to KILL somebody. Out of all the rotten luck.

Oh, well. Enough whinning over spilt milk. Here's a couple of pics of the damage:

This is what a deer face plant on a window looks like:

This is what's left of the mirror:

This is the scratch it's antlers made:

This is the dent it made:

If you have a GS.....park it in a safe garage until we find out who the heck put a curse on us.

BTW, before any extreme animal activists try and bash me....I did walk back up the highway to make sure the animal was not suffering somewhere, but it was nowhere to be found. I suspect it ran into nearby woods. I honestly don't think it died, but had I found it last night alive.....I would of killed it with my bare hands (jk).

Thanks bud.

Yeah, the wife and I are just fine. She was a little shook up, but otherwise both of us were totally scratchless.

Can't say the same about the car, but it could've been worse I guess.

Real sorry to hear that, Jaime. As you said, it could have been a LOT worse if the deer had been quicker or got there a bit sooner. I'm sure you'll get it fixed in no time.

I will tell ya though, with all these accidents lately, I've been REAL defensive out on the roads. On Tuesday when we had that thunderstorm front come through I was supposed to go up to I85 and Jimmy Carter but I bagged it. Figured the chances of someone hitting me went up too much as people in traffic seem to get real freaked out in rain.

Ouch. Sorry to hear about yet another incident, but at least this one is comparatively minor to some of the recent events.

Glad you and Mrs jmecbr900 are safe, J.
