Just got back from Germany for the Essen show.
Since I picked the car up late yesterday afternoon I have done nothing but driving.
It's a damn nice car, but at autobahn speeds I do not feel 100% confident taking the bends.
Ken, that is what I am talking about !!!
Thanks Ray!!!

What speeds were those Autobahn speeds? 200+ kph?
Probably you need to lower your car a bit and get wider rims. I expect your car still have the 16s with the 225 tires? I will give a lot of improvement.
Rominl also got me a set of Daizen sway bar bushings, not sure how good the improvement in handling will be after replacing the old bushings. I do not expect anything, but what the heck, they were cheap and I like to try cheap mods

I was cruizing at 210 km/h for a while. On the straights it is OK, but the high speed bends are a bit more "interesting".
At the Essen show I allready informed about a H&R coilover set.
The car is indeed still on the stock 16's, would like to get some 20's, LOL.
Keep me posted on the bushings!!

I liked the feel of the Teins when I was in the US, but I don't think I can get them serviced over here.

h&r
i have a set of the h&r coilovers, and i am very pleased with the ride, the lower capibilites and the overall craftmanship. I have had nothing wrong with them, and they work great. good luck on the mods

Hey Richard,
Congrats on the Lex, regrets on the employment situation...
I can definitely recommend the H&R coilovers- I installed mine 72 hours after purchasing my GS400.
The car has a nice 'hunkered down' feel, without any harshness. It uses the OE strut tops (not urethane or pillow-ball mount like some others), so there is no additional vibration or noise transmitted into the cabin. Great height adjustablility, too. I drive the car 100 miles per day, so it is a system you can really live with.
I would say that if Lexus had the stones to make a true Sport package, this is how it would ride- slightly higher spring rates, and much better shock valving, particularly on the rebound stroke.
My Mom rode in the car over the summer and mentioned how well it rides- this on 20" wheels!
Also, I should just mention: the Daizen front & rear sway bars are a terrific complement to the H&R coilovers. More roll stiffness and better turn-in response without an appreciable increase in side-to-side "head toss" movements. This car is fun!
Keep me posted on your modifying plans, I'll be happy to help if I can!
Regards,
Bob

You installed the coilovers 72 hours after you got the car, why did you wait that long, LOL?
I really appreciate your comments about the set, makes the decision for me a lot easier.
I also had some people tell me to go for the Daizens, sounds like a killer setup with the H&R's.
I'll keep you posted Bob and remember to keep me posted half january about what we talked about .
Thanks Bob!!!!
