Side Skirt Replacement How-To or DIY?
Anyone know of a how-to or DIY for GS side skirt replacement? I did a search didn't really find any "step-by-step" or "what-to-expect" message threads.
The best description I found was this:
But this is more confusing than helpful ("look ... its attached ... by a piece you can not see" ???). I can't really determine if the skirts are attached with screws only, screws and double-sided tape, or what.
Does anyone know exactly what to expect when replacing the skirts?

I have the L-Tuned side skirts and if you look between the vehicle.. its attached to the front and back by a piece you can not see that extends to a part of the underbody of the car via three screws and tape. I assume it would be similar for Stock.

in order to replace side skirts...
let me see if i can get this off the back of my head...
1) remove the front and rear plastic trim covers - remove the hex screws, then pull each cover from the bottom. make sure not too bend or crack the cover. ease the cover off and let the push fittings either come off with the covers or stay on the car.
2) remove the stainless steel screws - open the front and rear doors, you'll see there are approximately 10 screws (? am i right?)... unscrew each of those, but leave at least one halfway screwed in on each side skirt ( stock side skirts are two piece )
3) under the car, you'll see plastic splash covers. remove the 10mm screws and the push fittings to remove the covers. these should be easy to remove.
4) again, under the car, you'll see push fittings holding on the bottom of the front and rear side skirt (two piece). using a trim tool, you can pry each off.. but, there's a good chance that they will just crack and break into two. plan on replacing them. usually, any parts store will have replacements for these. there's no need to go to the dealer to buy replacements.
5) once all of the plastic push fittings are removed, the side skirt should now flap...
remove the two remainign screws on the top of the side skirts.
6) once the side skirts are removed (both pieces), the two pieces should be able to be pulled apart.

oh by the way, what happened to your ERTS stock splitting?
it should be doing well due to the holidays...

Not sure what's happened since the split a few weeks ago, other than a downgrading by B of A. You're right, it normally does well during this time of the year. I sure wish is wasn't taking the small beating -- got shares and options to sell for more mod-money!

I don't think there are a complete set of pdf's. I could be wrong though. It's just that the manuals are over 1000 pages in length times the 2 or 3 manuals . It would take a person a good amount of time to do it.
I was lucky to acquire my manuals from an old member who left the club. He gave me an awsome deal on the manuals.

Thanks guys! This thread really helped me.. Whole process took 2 hours and 40 minutes.. oh yeah that includs installing the skirts and watching a movie between each skirt.
I'll take more pics tomorrow.
