Honestly Anthony, it really looks like some paint was transferred over to your car. If you use some of the stronger polishing compound, I am confident you can remove most of the white paint trace from your bumper.

The same thing happened to my rear bumper when I was backing up against a white-washed wall. I was chatting with my gf next to me while backing into it COMPLETELY forgetting that I was backing towards a wall. I felt a nudge and my heart sank. I ran out to check out the damage and it looked very very similar to your rear bumper. Except mine was worse because the wall wasn't one of those nice smooth ones, but those made of really rough pebbles and gravels, so the white paint was actually pushed into my bumper.

I succeeded in getting most of the white paint out using a german product called Kitt which is a very strong compound. I usually use it to remove bug, tar, excess wax from hard to reach places, etc. If you stood 5 ft away you won't even tell I have "zits" on my rear bumper.

Ant sorry about the bad luck but think about this ...you still have your car!! It could be a lot worse as is quite evident here with some members loosing their car altogether. You know it will be better that new soon

Thanks for all the words of supports guys.. and my responses..

Ivan: No scratches on the lights, just a real dirty NE car that is getting washed today.

JT: I appreciate that bit of info.. I will try it. Thanks

Ride: Sorry man, I don't think you ever use your name on the forum and I couldn't address you by first name... or I just have no memory which is also a possibility. We will see what I have up my sleeve... I may just do a major overhaul of the car.

Depending on how much paint is on the bumper, you could also try to clay it out. I was moving a big metal shelf in my garage and slammed it into the edge of my bumper. At first I freaked, but after a little elbow grease and detail spray, the bumper was as good as new, and it was pretty heavy paint also. The shelves are industrial metal that have a heavy no rust paint coating.

Hope this helps, and good luck,

Joel
