I need help. I got an L Sportline bumper and grill, but the body shop is saying there is no way to install the fog lights. What do I do. They are saying they need to put in a bracket or something. Does anyone know what im talking about>?>

when i installed my fogs, i had to buy a piece of stock aluminum.

bent it into an L shape, and then bolted it down with a bolt and nut.

the other end of the aluminum piece is pushing against the fog light bracket
so that it applies pressure to keep the light in place.

the stock bumper has the fog lights removeable from the front...
basically, the fogs are just bolted to the bumper and can be removed without having to
remove the bumper.

the sportline bumper doesn't have this from the front.
in order to remove the fog lights or install them, you have to push the fogs
from the bag to come out through the front.

the way the sportline bumper curves, there's now way you can just bolt up the fogs
to the bumper... there's about a 3/4" space between the bumper and the fog.

Same here. I was at the body shop when they put on my RMM bumper - as I was walking in as he was screwing in the fogs to my new bumper..

Don't worry just let the bodyshop guys handle it - If there any good they will figure out how to make it work..

I think I know what they did. They probably just remoulded the hole for the fog to at least allow the fogs to be slid in from the front. They probably made 2 little cutouts for the side where the clips for the fogs are supposed to slid in and bore 2 holes on the side so they could screw in at the stock places.

What do you think? I think it would be PITA to use an aluminium plate to hold it in place....not very secure.

that sounds right, the cutouts held the clips on one side in place and screws on the other
i don't know bout' the plate being secure

Yeah, when I had my RMM front bumper put on, my bodyshop guys were skeptical when I told them that the stock fogs would fit. It was a chore for them, but that's what I paid them for!
