Differences in 98-2002 Silvers?

According to Edmunds.com, the '98-'99 GS has the Alpine Silver, and the '00+ GS has the Millenium. It has no mention of the silver color in the '00 GS Platinum Edition, though I would guess it's the Millenium kind. As pointed out by bluelex, the Millenium Silver has a hint of green to distinguish itself from the Alpine, which from my perspective has more of a "true" silver. Strange but true

By the way, my car did come with the old style taillights, so I guess that puts to rest the question if mill.silver comes with old style taillights. But after you did the lights swap, no one's gonna know...sssshhh.

Silvers
Now its kind of confirmed, I think someone has their right and lefts switched.......You guys pretty much confirmed what I thought....I knew it cause I see both colors everyday in my garage @work and I am not really diggin the milenium silver, the greenish or champagne tint to it turns me away from it. If I happen to find an alpine silver 2000 model I would be interested in it but I am not going to buy a 98-99 and comparing the 2 I like the alpine better. Who knows I drove a 2000 platinum edition and I still liked the color but can't remeber if it was the milenium or the alpine. Now I am going to have to see the 2 pearl whites next to each other.ahhahaha decisions decisions, its cool not being in a rush to buy a car like most people usually are........

The older silver is the one with a hint of champagne/green tint to it.
The newer one is the one that's pure silver with no gold, chmpgne, green, nothing, just pure bling2 silver.
I have both!!!

Millenium Silver
CHMPNGS:
When I bought my GS430 (Millennium Sliver), I traded in a 2000 GS300 Platinum Edition that was
Millennium Silver. (I still have the window sticker and it states "Millennium Silver") So if you drove a 2000 Platinum in silver, it had to be millennium.

You're international right?
I have a '98 GS4 Alpine silver, no greenish/gold whatsoever. Bitkahuna has a '00 GS4 Millenium silver.
His is very different than mine. In your pic of your 2 GS, mine looks like the silver on the right, while Bit's is like the silver on the left.

Just checked my paint code and it's 199 and I checked online and 199 is alpine silver. But my car has the paddle shifter thus a 2000+ model. My older car (1999) has a different tinge and champagneish in color....
...you are right, we could be different or could be in Japan they offer both colors anyway?

If anyone really really wants to know, let me know the 3 digit colour code from the vehicle and I can check if there are any variations and what date what year they are for you. I work in the paint trade and I have a big Dupont book and Dupont computer program that I can get the precise info from for you...

I don't mind either colours. They Alpine looks like it strives for the look-at-me silver, while the Millenium silver strives for the softer touch.
This is mine with the Millenium Silver, even waxed it's just a soft colour, but I like it.
