Default The curse goes on...and on....

Last month, it was the fuel pump replacement at 72,000 miles. Damage: $533.00 Lexus dealer said that this was a very rare situation.

This month, the car is idling rough like it's on 2 cylinders, won't accelerate unless pressed hard - on which case - it will slingshot the car, engine light would turn on and then off every few days, it's very hard to drive the darned car!!! How much $$$ to fix? I don't know yet. All I know is it will come from my pocket.

Appointment was set last week with Lexus dealer and the earliest date with a loaner is on Dec. 27th!!!

I've never had a Toyota product go like this.

Is it really a bad year for GS owners?

I had a similar issue on my GS4 and it was caused by 2 seperate things, the rough idle was due to the gaps closing up on 2 of my spark plugs.. the slingshot affect was from a fuel regulator sensor going out which would also cause the idle to go low since it wasnt getting enough fuel and sometimes the car would die.. this doesn't mean you have the same problem.. I am just sharing my similar experience.. maybe it will give sometype of idea of what you could run into.. good luck

Phluid, I think the fuel regulator sensor makes sense in my situation. I have changed the plugs to TM and not much improvement over the stock. I can't wait to see until this gremlin is fixed.
