Basically, Japan manufacturers are very domestically orientated.
They believe that they need to build a successful domestic market share/image. That's why they build these great cars like the Skyline, Aristo TT, ... But remember, most of the development of these cars are driven by engineers, not marketing people.
Countries like Hong Kong just benefit from these Japan domestic cars, since they are all RHD.

If you want to convert these RHD to LHD, it will require a lot more than building it. It will require many tests, ... and basically, in general most people do not consider a turbo as a feasible solution to get more power (except perhaps for Audi 1.8T and the now very popular diesel turbo in Europe). Turbos are normally not giving the smoothness of a bigger engine.

Not only that, turbo engines are more prone to blowing up and take a lot of maintanence to keep it fit....something a lot of people are not willing to do with their cars (thus the famed 1,000,000 mile warranty offered by many of the "lesser" automobile factories)

Alex, we're not talking about making a RHD LHD.
We want to put the engine and gearbox in a LHD shell.

I also thing the swap would be "easier" with the 161 clip.
If you could get the wiring diagrams iof both cars you could see what matches and what doesn't.

I'm interested in the results.

Default AHEM!

Swapping a 2JZ GTE is not that difficult. The decision is depending on how much HP you want. Jay has a 2JZ GTE Swap w/stock turbo, drove over 4000 miles with no problems. By next week, he's going to upgrade to a T88 Single Turbo Upgrade with Veilside manifold piping and is a daily driven car. Choice between swap/turbo kit, swapping engine would be the best choice and more potential for power. I myself have a Single turbo kit on the 2JZ GE motor and I chose this path because of two reasons. One: to utilize the 2JZ GE motor/not losing the "Lexus" luxury and Two: Jay already has done it.... Any questions you can ask Jay just pm him or email him at cantch@aol.com or you can just reply here. Any questions about turbo kit just ask me...

Glad to see you are doing this project Terry. You need to chat to Jay. He has done it in gis GS3. Looks like my 2JZ-GTE LS is almost done also. They are currently putting a T71 on it
