The VW SUV is very nice, I just could NOT see myself dropping 55k on it!! With the resale value issues that Audi faces, could you imagine the HIT you may take on a 55k VW

I wonder if the VW will be this terrible.

I just read an article about someone who traded in their 5-month old cayenne for an fx45. they paid 68K for the cayenne and got 42K for trade after only 5-months. This article stated the owners had to pay a 7k upgrade to get the fx45 and do not regret this purchase. EG) love the fx much more than the cayenne.

That first year is a killer!

Is it just me or is the FX suddenly not looking as good? Loved it when it came out - it had a "I'm ugly and don't care if you like it or not" kind of look. The dual exhausts were sweet too.

But now, maybe with all the Infiniti commercials out, it suddenly looks kind of funny. Might be just me.

I agree. Bionic Cheetah by ****. Paying 50k for an Infiniti is nuts too. In 2 years, that thing will be going for 20k. Now that is a steal. In my shopping for cars, 2002 low mileage Q45s are going for low to mid 30s.
Check out the QX56! Definitely a BEAST with class! Some may not like it, but I think that's one of those cars that you either like it or you don't.
POS. The interior is the same as the Titans with some wood sprinked here and there. 55k for this truck is ridiculous. Ugly inside and out. A Japanese Escalade.

I'd just get a FX 35, it's barely a second slower than the FX 45 and at 35-40k a great buy.

Hey Doug, you had a chance to get into an FX? Most of the sputes amaze me with how little room they have on the inside relative to how big they are on the outside but the FX breaks new ground as far as I am concerned. May not be important to a lot of you but that thing has very little room on the inside. As for the looks - never quite did it for me.

I definitely agree that the FXs are getting funny looking the more you see them. I see quite a few here and they remind me of those van conversions where they place a van body on top of a 4x4 chassis. Just kinda weird.

The porsches definitely depreciate at an extraordinary rate. I understand they will or now offer a base cayenne with a v6 at a much lower price then the v8 model. My friend at work was very pissed off when he told me about that. He's gonna lose a ton of $$ on it if he sells. He lost a ton on his X5 4.4 to buy the cayenne.

Is it worth this or should I wait until the summer for a used fx45, maybe for around 35k, but I wonder where interest rates will be at that time.
Is the loan a home equity loan? I think the rates will hold steady especially with it being an election year. Use the calculator and figure out how much interest you will be paying.

You have GOT to be kidding me man!! That car is 55-60k brand new, so it loses HALF is value in one calendar year???

I would hate to be the guy that bought one brand new

Depreciation sucks... So i will never buy new. That is unless the new GS wins me over?

I am looking for a replacement for the gs, so hopefully finding the same performance.
I am not sure the fx35 will give me that.

Buy a mini cooper S! That's a fun car but it's not luxurious but it doesn't depreciate much, at least on the west coast.

We'll be getting ours in April or May 2004.

A Mini as a GS4 replacement? And how will this do in the South Dakota snow?
I am confused.

Not sure how well it will do in the snow but the guys on the mini boards says its fine with snow tires.

I was thinking more of a fun car then a snow car. Sorry for the confusion.

So I was talking with the caddy sales people. They are trying to sell me a escalade. I am not sure if for the same price as the fx45 is it is worth it? the reviews seem good, any comments?

Now, we went from the FX, GX, and X5. Narrowed it down to:
FX45
GX470
X5 4.4
Porsche Cayenne
VW Toureg
Caddy Escalade
Caddy SRX
Jeep
QX56
Q45
MB ML55
RX330 Hybrid
and the Mini Cooper S

Anyone ready for the poll? I think kutscher should start one. What do you guys think? ? ? ? ?
