I was worried about getting scratches on my bumpers when I first got my GS. A month after I got my 2002, somebody scrapped (not scratched) the rear bumper very bad when it was parked. The corner had a huge scrape in it, about a foot wide and 3-4 inches high, like they were too lazy to back up one more time before pulling out of their parking spot behing me. I considered putting those adhesive bumper guards on the car. I even got this company to send me their sample book for Protekto trim which can be cut to fit your car but I thought it would still look ugly. Part of me wishes that Lexus would do the same thing that Mercedes does where they have small sections of their bumpers that kind of protrude out from the rest of the bumper and then you can simply repaint those sections if they get scratched. Honestly there's not much you can do except repaint your bumpers every so often after they get a bunch of scratches.
