GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a 2004 Nissan Maxima, and I am going to have to ssay it again, the new GS Does not at all look like the MAxima!! There is little resemblance!!!!! U need to see the Maxima in person and the GS in person, and there is nothing to bawk about! I am telling you honestly, since I am a LExus owner, that the Maxima will not be confused that much with the GS since the GS is beautiful and sexy and you must must see it in person to give your judgement. This GS is the Lexus "own" design and an evolutionary one, and it was Nissan who sorta copied the current GS with that big pillar in the rear and the small trunk to be put on the 2004 MAxima not LEXUS! THe lexus have created this design and is being carried on to the 2006 GS and all of you should be happy with it. My son drives the Maxima, and he says that the GS is hella lot better and its a TRUE LEXUS FUTURE DESIGN AND NOT LIKE THE OTHERS!! I promis you that.

Cheers!

I know this is the car they are showing off and what not, but I have this strange feeling this is not the car your will see in dealerships.

I see some definite tweaking to be added here and there... and if put in the right places it could change everything.

On the flip side, as of now, I'm not a huge fan.

At first glance this morning....it looks like a Maxima.....but I'm sure it'll grow on us....eventually....esp. when aftermarket parts are available.

Give it some time guyz. I guess that means there's 2 years more for the current GS design since the new design is slated as a 2006 model.

IMO, the Maxima is one of the best looking cars on the road today. I do think the GS has some resemblence, however, that is a complement.

Maxima! It looks like a Maxima, the fact that you are not looking at both of them in person does not matter. It's the fact that everyone agrees that it resembles a $30,000 when you're going to be paying $55,000 or better for a V8 which is only 35 hp more than the Maxima. How pathetic. I love Lexus and absolutely love the driving feel of their cars, but after copying MB for 14 years I thought that this was the moment they finally went CAdillacs way and made a splash with a new design philosophy. But yet again, we get another copy of an even lesser car, now I wish they would've copied the E. Heck I'll take an E knockoff rather than a Maxima look alike. I am truly very disappointed and angry right now. Maybe I expected so much from this car, and I believed the rumours of a 340-360 hp car. Ha, as if Lexus would ever put a powerful engine in there. Well they won't get my business again, I'd rather buy the 300C and make a statement when I pull up, have 40 more hp, and $20,000 more grand in my pocket. I cannot respect a company like Toyota right now when they are so profitable and making so much money in the USA, and still are unwilling to friggin give us some hp. ALL I ASK IS FOR MORE POWER!!! DENNY CLEMENTS, 300 HP IS NOT A PERFORMANCE SEDAN NOWADAYS! GET WITH THE TIMES! AUDI, VW, MB, BMW, JAGUAR, CADILLAC and a few others ALL HAVE SPORT SEDANS WITH MUCH MORE THAN 300 HP!

I completely agree with this

A picture can say a 1,000 words- but not all of them are necessary accurate.

here is the pic of the rear of the maxima. The trunk of the Maxima looks the same as the GS trunk. I know that the tail lights aren't the same but hte trunk shape is the same. I have seen the Maxima up close and this is my first impression when I saw the pics.

here is the pic of the maxima trunk

I will say one thing (and I sure hope it doesn't change with the production models) and that is the car looks like it is sprung at just the right height, ala BMW. No large wheel gap in that car. I hope it's not just the prototypes that are that way.

They need to tweak the head & taillights for the production model, I don't like them as they are now.
I hope they do because it won't take much, but if done right can greatly improve the appearance.

not impressed. they need to do something with it big time. the interior caught my eye but not enough for me to get in line to buy it. i think infiniti g35 AWD is calling my name more and more.
