Smile Don't weep too much

I wouldn't be too disappointed in it, even if it doesn't have quite the looks or power some of you would want. After all, it DOES have AWD....which is a BIG step forward for any Lexus sedan. Lexus, just like any car company, does not have an unlimited development budget, and they chose to use the budgeted dollars to give this car something it really needed and could use rather than exotic-car looks or power.

The AWD is only available on the V-6 model though. I guess anyone who would buy a 430 wouldn't want the slight power drain that AWD provides, but it would be nice if they had it on the V-8 as an option.

Thumbs up New 2005 GS

I love it! I think the styling is great! The addition of another gear to the tranny is also a step in the right direction. Currently I plan to trade in my IS for the new GS when they are available.

Think I'll go with the larger wheels and the ML sound system as well as the Navigation unit.

Thumbs down big mistake just like LS430 body style.

I saw the new GS on the auto show on ESPN with C.Van Tune and it was not that impressive. Reminds me of the change of the LS back in 2001 from the LS400 to the LS430. Im not saying it doesn't look O.K but it isn't in my opinion an improvement from the GS that is on sale now. When they changed the GS from the 1997 model to the GS in 1998 it was going up. I can't say this is going up with this GS styling wise but who knows, we all are aware how great Lexus cars drive,so maybe it will grow on me like the LS430 has. Even though i like the LS430 I still feel that the 2nd generation was better. I'll give them credit for the tail and headlights change on the LS but to me they did the LS model less than expected and are doing the new GS for 2006 less than expected. The GS model is the best looking car in the Lexus line-up now. This will be a wait and see thing. I buy Lexus' because of the quality of the car, so i let the looks pass. I had a S430 benz and an ML benz truck and they look good but the quality is not there like Lexus. Thats what we can look foward to with the 2006 GS the quality if nothing else.

Hopefully when it does arrive that the high beams still does not look like the current avalon, and also the back does not look like 05 maximas.
06 GS may be new but don't worry current GS shall not be defeated in any way.
