Question GS Grill

Any idea where I can find either a Chrome Grill for a 2000 GS 300 or a RMM Grill. I also like the L-Tuned Grill but I am not sure how much they cost...any help is appricated. Thanks.

Do a search and you'll find plenty of DIY threads for how to chrome your stock grill...it's pretty easy to do. Or pick up a Sportdesign grill, which is chrome straight from the factory. You can contact Steve Ganz for info on the L-Tuned grill, but he may only sell it as part of the aero kit package. The fit is great on the L-Tuned. I believe some members were selling the L-Tuned grill for around $300-$350.

The sportdesign grill is just a chromed version of the 2001 - up stock grill. If you can find a stock grill from a 2001-up GS, you can chrome it yourself. I agree, the newer grill looks better than the 98-00 version.

Not fully chromed, though. Just the front of the "main" slats. Just clarifying.

I hate to admit this, but I have always wondered why I like the 01+ grille when chromed so much!! It has 'thicker' bars

Can the 2001+ grill be chromed by taking off the paint like the 2000 grill?

Did you contact Carson Toyota (Steve Ganz)? I got mine last year. You should be able to get any Lexus/Toyota contact to order the SportDesign grille. Also keep in mind that this is the grille only. The L emblem in the grille is separate. The ones from the 98-2000 cars are a different size. If you have one of those years, you will need to buy a grille and an emblem.

Let me know if you can't find it. I may be replacing my grille in the near future with something else. If so, I will have an SD one for sale. I am focused on a few other mods right now so the grille is not my top priority.

As for your other question, the answer is yes. You should be able to take the paint off the 2001+ grilles. I just did not want to deal with that , plus the factory one is perfectly straight at the chrome edges.

This is actually the website for aftermarket stuff, although they can get much more:

http://www.l-tunedparts.com/

You can PM Steve here on CL (SUPRATRD) or email him: gonzo4u@earthlink.net

As for pricing, I have not given it much thought. Probably in the mid 100s for both grille and emblem. We'll see when I get around to getting the new grille.
