Question

Listen, now I noticed long before I put on the BORLA'S that the left side muffler tip was always higher than the right! Not by much, and this appears to be apparent on several GS's I see. But now with these larger outlets/tips, it is too OBVIOUS and now I am getting contact and resonance through the rear, (due to contact). The right side sits perfectly. Since it was a bolt on job, we didn't need a torch. But the shop that put them in suggest I get a muffler shop to heat it up back at the bend so it will give a little. Any suggestions or similar concerns?

It sounds like the flange that you bolt the muffler to is angled a bit off. This can easily be fixed by a quality muffler shop (one that specializes in custom exhausts). They will need to cut flange and weld it back on at the correct angle. Figure it will take an hour so be prepared to pay for it. Also might want to have a new gasket handy just in case.

Common they just need to heat it up and let it drop a bit. Pretty simple they should not charge you more than $5.00

No need to cut anything.

Talking McGyver Method

Sherwin - I had the same problem with both Borlas but since there's so much give with those rubber hangers, I just got a couple of heavy-duty tie wraps & cinched things up to where everything's centered. Before U slam me for such a cheap method, I did trim the loose ends & U can't see the wraps unless U get under the car & REALLY look hard!

Thumbs up Got it fixed!

Thanks MeanG. and evryone else! I was referred by a friend to this muffler shop and we all concluded that my left side exhaust was a little lower than the right
After explaining the difference in bending at the muffler or the factory pipe, we went with the pipe. Turns out just a very slight heating & bend up front fixed it perfectly as apposed to more heating and bending of the muffler! (Which were perfect anyway.) I can't wait to post up some pictures, I got quite a few!
