Advice plz --> looking at 98 gs400 -->Update: New owner now!
I'm in the market for a 98 gs400 with low miles and found one at a dealership a couple of hours from me. I got some basic info from them and they are taking additional pics and emailing them before I go see the car this weekend. I'm looking for advice on what I should make sure to check, etc. -- as well as price opinions.
Here's the basic info:
98 GS400 with 69k miles (black with Tan interior)
nav, hids, heated seats, traction control, sunroof, cd changer
Car was trade-in (2nd owner -- had since '00). Service record shows heated seat repair, hid bulb replacement, normal maintenance. All-season tires are almost new
Car just had all fluids done and detailing, an spare tire replacement.
Priced at $20,000.
Thanks

Good Deal
I'd say go for it. 98's were the first year of the 2nd generation GS, and many say that the first year has bugs, but I don't think you have anything to worry about.. I could not find a 98 when I was looking for one, but I wound up with a 99, and I am happy.
As 1SICKLEX said, if the 60,000 mile maintenance was done, you should be good until 90,000 miles. That is when the timing belt, spark plugs, & water pump need to be changed.
GOOD LUCK, and happy motoring!

Thanks guys. I checked kbb.com and edmunds.com and the price seemd good. I believe the 60k service was done. I just received pics from the salesman via email, I'll try to attach to posts for reactions.
I've been seeing threads that mention 'eshift', how do I confirm whether it's got that, and how important is that for someone coming from a modified Audi a4 turbo who likes to let it out a bit in the twisites somtimes?
Thanks again

All 98-00 GS 400's have E-shift. You can see the "Down" shift button on the steering wheel spoke in the last pic (the "Up" button is on the back of the spoke).
Edit: You posted more pics while I typed this, it's no longer the last pic

Good price good find. Rims look new even though you will replace them.
Sorry for all of the questions, just want to cover my bases and I make the drive Saturday morning.

By the way, thats a super shiny tire there. What they do? Dip the whole thing in baby oil?
