Wish I knew about this earlier
I already replaced the passenger side, and that cost 275 for the lock , and 100 for install.
The two rears are finicky and go out whenever they please. I think they're starving for attention since the front passenger got fixed. who knew they were so jealous...
So, I'll need the driver rear and the passenger rear...

Just had this replaced today
The actuator doesn't really go BAD in most cases. There's a cheaply made plastic piece of the end of the cable that triggers the manual lock level to open and close. The peice over time gets brittle and breaks. Unfortunately the don't sell a replacement plastic piece so you gotta buy the whole damn thing...
Sucks Big time!!!

I agree.
I'm not going to say all the time but in most of these cases I'm retty sure it can be fixed without buying a new part.
Like Romini said there is a "threaded" piece of plastic that goes into a reciever of sorts. It can be taken out and put back in at diferent "threads" of the piece to adjust how much travel the cable will have.
I know its this because when I took my door apart to replace my speakers I noticed the previous stereo installer had broken the piece and had used one of the zip ties with a hole in the end as a band aid.I cant say much because it worked flawlessly. When I put it back together it must have slipped a bit cause now it doesnt work.
I'm going to take it back apart and fix it soon as its driving me nuts.

I Need A Door Lock Actuator
My front passenger door has a defective door lock actuator. The motor seems to be fine for the first lock or unlock cycle, but then fails to move afterwards. When some time has passed, the door lock starts working again for awhile.
MAALOXX said that the motor does not wear out, but the problem is in the plastic locking mechanism. Sometimes I hear a faint clicking sound in that door just after the motor stops moving. Sure seems like something is loose in there.
So the question is: DO WE REALLY NEED THE ENTIRE ACTUATOR, OR IS IT JUST THE PLASTIC PIECE? Sounds like Lexus is pulling a fast one if the motors are fine, and just the plastic pieces are bad. I also thought that MAYBE these pieces go bad bacause we open and close our doors repeatedly, sometimes with excessive force unintentionally. I feel the plastic piece could break or slip after so much stress from the action of the doors. Is this possible?
The other 3 doors work fine all the time. I am definitely interested in this actuator, because it detracts greatly from an otherwide PERFECTLY operating car. I GOTTA FIX THIS..
I will take the door apart and check those threads! If I cannot repair this piece, you can count me in on the group buy for this actuator.

How Can We Move This Groupbuy Forward??
Hello,
I have been looking at this groupbuy for over a year now, and still nothing. Now I have a door malfunctioning, and still no groupbuy.
HOW can we go forward on this? A lot of us are going ahead and biting the bullet, and getting the cars fixed,
It doesn't seem like rocket science, yet this drasgs on and on.
ANY SUGGESTIONS??
