Default LF-S & 3rd Gen. GS pics together......

I realize the purpose of the LF-S as a concept from Lexus and their forward design thinking. I read some peoples comments saying that they were expecting the new GS to "be" the LF-S and they were dissapointed when the new GS didnt at all resemble the LF-S concept. However the new GS gets alot of its styling from the LF-S concept IMO. Look at them as a whole and they are almost identical in the side shot. I would loved to have seen the LF-S tailights on the new GS.You can see from the side shot kinda what they would have looked like.I am gonna get some more rear angles to compare the two vehicles.

I believe you read my other thread but I don't know if you read it before you made this thread. From what the Spies say..............................

"Auto Spies World Exclusive: If you were like us, you were hoping that the next Lexus GS would be a re-badged LF-S, like the one shown in Tokyo...

Here's what we've found out...

Lexus threw everyone a curveball (including us). The real story on the LF-S is that you WILL see it come out as a Lexus...but surprise, the design of the LF-S is the next IS

The story is the GS was too far in development to change the skin to be similar to the LF-S.

Stay tuned....The IS will be the first Lexus based on the more modern and attractive LF-S design.

YES!!!"

Looks like all the current GS owners will become IS owners, expecially if they make an IS430. What you think? Looks have if Lexus is making the new GS a straight family luxury sedan with no real flare and took all our ideas and making them happen just with a differernt badge. IS300 and IS430. We all know they can fit a V-8 in there, I guess we will some more.

Thanks.

I now figured out why the new GS looks crappy.

The angle the hood is at and the angle the windshield is at just don't mesh. Also the hood is entirely too long.

I agree. Close, but no cigar.

Hey Brice, how about adding another pic showing the side and front shots of the newest Maxima.

Sorry, but there are already quotes from Toyota executivees who have said the LF-S is actually the next LS. The dimension on the LFS is to large to be an IS. I too was a bit disapointed with the new GS, particularly the front end. We'll see how it does on the market when it goes on sale, but i'd say maybe 1-2 years before a "refresh" a la the new bangled 745!

And there have been quotes saying it was the new GS a few months back as well. And as you can see from the comparison the two are damn close but obviously not the same car.As far as the LF-S being the next IS, well Autospies posted that quote so that alone should tell you how valid it is. Point is is that the LF-S is just a concept to "hint" at what "direction" Lexus styling will take in the future.

Not saying your wrong or anything, and not implying that the LF-S concept isn't nice, but if this was close to what the next LS430 is going to look like what the HELL is wrong with Lexus????? The LS to me is a really nice and classy luxury car, and for them to round it off, and make it sporty looking like a S-Class would be a horrible mistake. They should just stay with their current design, make it available in a long wheel base platform, and give it a mild appearance update. And offer a sport package, thats it. It still would rank as the best luxury car to buy and the most bought luxury car among buisnes people. Just a thought.
