You're right, this is an old thread.
And with it, there are error code given by the OBD II. It describes what and where the code originates. Or, where the part is located.
The O2 sensor was replaced with a dealer supplied part.
Yes, a local mechanic should be able to replace the sensor. It is recommended you use Denso brand.
Lastly, please provide the vehicle's mileage, year and model you are refering to...Your 1999?

You never mentioned if you have a "check engine lamp" error indicated. If you have this error from the readout ....
P0135 - normally, a problem with sensor 1, bank 1 (passenger side, exhaust manifold)
If more than one sensor is failing, the error would be persented on an OBD II readout.
A recommended web site for the Denso sensors...

Hope this helps...

Thank you Tammy,
Sorry to trouble you one more time, what is the OEM Part# for this O2 Sensor? I went to the link you recommended, not sure which one I will need.

Do you have the P0130-P0135 sensor #1 error or a P0136-P0141 sensor #2 error? The pigtail wire length is different.
One O2 sensor is for the front manifold (cyl 1-3) #234-4048
and the rear manifold (cyl 4-6) #234-4626 on the straight six engine.
