Default weird mod but is it possible?

thrice i have been in a newer model lexus 03' + and for some reason i really like the windshield sprayers its a mist not like the older ones with stream of water spraying out. i was wondering if it would be possible to switch the nozzles on the hood and get the same outcome? sounds weird but i guess im a weird guy.

You are not weird. There's a guy with an SC that has upgraded his old nozzles to '03 ES nozzles.
He painted them to match his car and had no problem with them at all. In your case your hood may have a different angle, thus you may or may not need to do some modification.

I noticed the sprayers are 2 streams rather than the spray I like on my Accord. I'm sure this mod would be real easy, even if the holes on the hood aren't quite the same. I know they're a bit expensive though, probably about $50 a nozzle.

my 03 GS4 doesn't have a mist type windshield washer sprayer. it actually has sprayers with three nozzle holes per side. It's kinda cool cuz when you use the spray, the washer solution sprays out in a pattern somewhat resembling a tree frog's foot. So if you're looking for a mister type sprayer, i don't think the newer gs nozzle is what you'd want.

Someone in Japan tried to replace his Aristo 2-shot nozzle with the 3-shot nozzle that came with the Toyota Vitz (which is not avail. in the US) and he said on his website that the experiment was a failure because the water pressure dropped significantly coz a lot more volume was pumped out with the 3-shot than with the 2-shot causing the spray line to drop significantly below the middle line of the windshield.

It's kinda like having another hole on your garden hose. With the same pressure from the tap, you will get much less exit pressure with an extra hole.

I don't know. I am wanting to experiment with a Camry nozzle because it's a pure misty spray and not a shot-type spray. I really like that!

here are what the nozzles look like on my '03 GS4. i'm not sure if the overseas aristos have this setup, but i think it's pretty neat. my girlfriend has a 02 Camry and i thought her mist-type windshield sprayer was cool. however, she likes the nozzles on my car more than hers (it was one of the first things she noticed when she rode in my car the first time), go figure!

oh, yeah, my car's dirty. it rained last night in "sunny" so cal.

taking jon's post into consideration i would think the nozzles would have too much pressure bc the mist nozzles has a one shot with a divider in the middle rather than our 3 shot nozzles. when ever i get a chance or $$$ i will definitely look more into this i think this would be cool to have

Default Not sure but

I haven't seen (or used) the newer mister nozzles you are referring to, but in my experience with otehr cars that use the mister...it is all but useless at highway cruising speeds. This is especially troublesome in teh winter time if driving in the snow as salt and sand will quickly cloud your windshield. The tri-stream sprayer is MUCH more effective at higher speeds.

Did you ever notice when someone in front of you cleans their windshiled on the highway...a mister gets totally disipated and sprays all over the roof of the car and beyond...the tri-stream will get more windshield than air. IMO anyway.

Yes, on lex400sc's incredible site www.intellexual.net - he describes the advantages of and how to install 2002+ ES300 fanning nozzles.

According to his site, all Lexus nozzles are interchangeable.

I drove an 02 ES300 loaner for a week and noticed those nozzles, I thought it was pretty cool.. Never thought of trying to put them on my car though. Maybe when I have some extra cash lying around, I'll consider it.

yes, i think johnny mo is correct. they put stream sprayers on your car because it is a performance car. try using those misting suckers when you are going faster than 70. doesn't work. i have only noticed those things on minvans and trucks.

now, if you can get a nozzle that can do both, you have got yourself a winner...while you are at it, get one that can spray the dudes that come up to you at stop lights...that pisses them off everytime...
