Default Will platinum exhaust work with RMM rear?

I'm pretty confident the holes in the rmm rear bumper are plenty large enough, just not sure if the tips extend enough or if they will be hidden back in the bumper. Tried a search but couldn't find the anser.

Anyone run this combo before, or have an idea of what it would be like?

The oval chrome tips on the platinum edition for 1998. From what I understand, they became the stock exhaust for later years. When I got my used 98 I wanted nice chrome tips, but they ones on my car were in poor condition, so I recently picked up a used platinum exhaust set from the classifieds. Normally, I would look into a cat-back, but with body kit, coilovers, sways, and tint high on my list, I thought the platiunum would get me by for a while.

I did not know that there was a platinum edition for 98. Hmm.

Anyway, I remember the newer tips got a bit bigger but I don't think they stick out farther. Many aftermarket bumpers (like the RMM) do not curve in like the stock. I know that the RMM exhaust will extend over an inch from the stock opening but is relatively flushed with the RMM bumper's opening.

Of course you can always go to an exhaust shop and have them lengthen the stock pipe.

An inch doesn't sound too bad since I probably will only run that setup for 4-5 months. I do like the idea of having them extended. I can probably get a friend to do it pretty cheap)

Thanks Neo

well it will look pretty bad it's very inset and the tips are so small. but it will be a very good incentive for you to go with the real deal

You're right, ugliness is a great motivator for change. I had the mod bug with my last car and it seems to have carried over to the Lex. I don't thihk there is a cure, just limiting factors, such as budget.

Since I'm in Illinois, I may just wait until late spring to have the kit installed. That buys me some time on the exhaust. Besides, I'm crossing my fingers and hoping a daizen sway group buy will start up soon. There seemed to be some interest in a recent thread.
