Is it a good daily driver? Whats the mileage for the GS400-430 and is there a big difference between them and the GS300? I am leaning towards the 430 but am just going to use this car to drive... i already have a car with too much money into it...

Good daily driver? It's a blast, but don't buy either the GS300 or GS430 for great gas mileage. They suck gas, both of them. The GS300 gets only slightly better 'economy' than the GS400/430.

If you're worried about gas costs, don't buy a GS, buy a Civic Hybrid or Toyota Prius.

You say you already have a car with too much money in it, you mean in mods and stuff? OK, what are you looking for then? If it's just a daily driver that isn't supposed to be a whole lot of fun, just get a Camry or something.

Pure freeway driving: 23.5 mpg

Mostly city driving: 17mpg (as bad as 14.7 mpg with a really heavy foot and very short drives <5 miles/trip)

I love my GS4. I usually averaged 21-22 MPG and have gotten close to 25MPG recently on a short 200 miles freeway trip. I am getting better gas mileage than my V6 03 Maxima.

You must drive like a granny to get 21-22 on average unless you drive almost all highway and cruise.

There is no traffic jams where I am at. However, plenty of cold weather and snow at this time

I know they dont get 'the best gas mileage' but i like the looks and need a 4 door car. 20+ mpg is good enough for me. Beats my Saleens mpg. I was just curious because I need a 4 door for work and like the GS the best. Other choices have been 5 series, 7 series, A4, E class benz. I want something big though and think the GS is the choice. Maybe an escalade but those are too played out around here. Thanks guys.

i dont watch MPG as much as I watch miles to a full tank, I usually average bt 285-300 miles to a full tank. That would include city and highway driving (anywhere from 50-100+)

I get 14-15 MPG and thats about 50/50 city/highway. On long trips I've gotten as much as 18MPG.

Honestly, if you have to worry much about gas mileage, you shouldn't own a $50K+ luxury car.

speaking of gas, how big is a GS400 gas tank? I think the manual says 20 gallons, but whenever I fill up, even with the light on empty for about 50 miles, I can only get 15-16 gallons in it. Has anyone noticed how much gas goes in when the tank is empty?

I've had as much as 18. This should be right around the point where the cruising range is 0, which I believe must mean there is a gallon or two left.

Every car I've ever had (well, anything with at least 6 cylinders), when the gas light goes on, it usually signifies that there's about 4 gallons left. When it comes on, I usually try to fill it up within the next 25 miles or so. However, it usually never gets to that point, as I fill the tank up when the fuel gauge drops to about 1/3 of a full tank.
